What's New?

Just a few new fabrics in this week:
Pansy Passion Metallic from Blank Quilting:
Flower Fantasy from Quilting Treasures:
Grace from RJR:
And a Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit Panel with coordinating pindots:
Critter Patch by Penguin & Fish for Clothworks isn't strictly new, but it is so adorable for spring that I had to include it:
We've been tidying up and rearranging the store for spring!  We've grouped all our floral fabrics on one wall right by the cutting table to inspire your spring and summer sewing:
And we've been playing with new color combinations in other areas of the store as well:
Enjoy the lovely weather predicted for this weekend; hope to see you soon!

New Fabrics!

Here's what's new in the shop:

Lots of crisp blue and white prints to cool down the hot summer days ahead:

Wouldn't the faux- ikat border stripe in the last picture make a great summer skirt?

Royal Retro from Wilmington Prints mixes the crisp blues with warmer greens and a bit of purple:

We also have a lovely soft collection from Marcus Fabrics; Subtle Skies (This one is perfect for spring sewing!):

And a watercolor floral collection from Exclusively Quilters in brighter colors for summer:

From Studio e, a few prints from Flori-Logic:

And finally, from Andover Fabrics, the Downton Abbey collection in the "Mary" colorway:

We're open this weekend, Saturday 9-4 and Sunday 12-4.  Come in and be inspired!

Carla's Stars in Modern Solids

Let us show you a stunning project that our employee, Carla has been working on.

This quilt was made using the free pattern that comes with the Rapid-Fire Lemoyne Star ruler.
The fabrics are from the Modern Solids collection by In the Beginning Fabrics.  This fabric is so special because, the warp and weft threads are dyed two different colors before being woven together.  This gives the fabric a subtle shimmer and added depth that you don't find in typically dyed solids.  The fabric is wonderfully soft and drapey, too.

I always like to see the back of quilt tops, don't you?  It's like a secret that gets hidden forever once the quilt is finished.
The quilt is all quilted now and hanging near the main cutting counter in the shop.  The twinkling stars around the edges finish it off perfectly.  Come by and see it!
These are the Modern Solids II with nice bright, clear colors that Carla used for her project.  We also still carry the original Modern Solids, which have richer, more earthy tones.  Both are just gorgeous.
